Scholarships for Detroit youth

Our goal in 2026 is to heavily fundraise for scholarships to be used in the fall of 2027. It is our hope to start awarding scholarships in spring of 2027.

  • Austin Past & Future Fund scholarships are open to Detroit residents who are 16 to 25 years old. Proof of residency in the city is required, whether by driver’s license, City-issued ID, school ID or other form of proof.

    The age of eligibility is meant to include those who wish to seek higher or secondary education and may have gotten a later start, for whatever reason.

  • The scholarships can be used for tuition, books and supplies, or room and board. We realize that different students have different needs, and want to ensure all Detroit youth receive help where they need it most.

  • The amount of each scholarship is dependent on the total funds raised through donations. The fund is set up to invest financial gifts into the market, which will grow the amount available over time. In this regard, donations are creating an endowment. The size of the fund each year will determine how much and how many scholarships we give.
